Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s President, Says Tuesday Missile Strike Shows ‘Only a Fraction of Iran’s Power’
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, confirmed that Tuesday’s missile strike on Israel was a defensive response, emphasizing that it showcased ‘only a fraction of Iran’s power.’ In a post on X, Pezeshkian highlighted that the action was necessary to protect Iran’s interests and citizens. He warned Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, that Iran is not aggressive but will firmly stand against any threats. ‘Do not test Iran’s resolve,’ Pezeshkian stated, reinforcing Iran’s readiness to defend itself.
In coordination with the missile strike, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed it targeted three Israeli military bases around Tel Aviv. The attack, reported by the semi-official Mehr News outlet, is seen as a direct response to Israel’s recent military action in Lebanon, which resulted in the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Meanwhile, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, also took to X, warning in Hebrew that the strikes would intensify and become ‘stronger and more painful.’ The escalation follows Israel’s ground operations against Hezbollah, raising concerns about the potential for a broader regional conflict.
