Bank of America Outage Leaves Users Across the U.S. Unable to Access Accounts
On Wednesday, a widespread Bank of America outage left thousands of users unable to access their accounts through the Bank of America app and online banking platform. Reports from customers nationwide, including major cities like Los Angeles and New York, indicated that they were either locked out of their accounts or seeing a concerning $0 balance display.
According to Downdetector, over 20,000 outage reports were filed by midday, raising alarms for many users. Affected customers saw messages like “Bank of America accounts temporarily unavailable,” which heightened their concerns about their finances. Many turned to social media, asking, “Is Bank of America down?” and sharing their experiences with the Bank of America glitch.
One Reddit user expressed frustration, saying, “It’s time to switch banks. BOFA has been notorious for these issues.” Some customers also advised others to screenshot their recent transactions to safeguard against any potential discrepancies once the Bank of America app is back online.
The Bank of America problems today brought reminders of similar disruptions in January 2023, where users experienced issues with missing funds from deposits and Zelle transactions. Despite the growing concern, Bank of America has not yet provided an official explanation for the Bank of America account unavailable messages.
With the Bank of America app down and some customers seeing balances of $0, many are left waiting for a resolution and hoping the Bank of America glitch today will not lead to more significant issues. As of now, there is no clear timeline for when the Bank of America online banking system will be fully restored.
