Xbox Servers Down Following PlayStation Network Outage
Gamers are facing another frustrating setback as Xbox servers go down, just one day after PlayStation Network experienced its own disruption. Many Xbox users are reporting difficulties accessing Xbox Live, with issues ranging from online matchmaking failures to an inability to play certain games.
The outage has been widely noted by DownDetector, where reports of Xbox servers being offline spiked this morning. Despite the growing complaints, Microsoft has yet to officially address the issue, with the Xbox Status page only mentioning a minor problem with The Elder Scrolls Online.
This incident follows closely on the heels of an eight-hour PlayStation Network outage, which left PS4 and PS5 players unable to access online services. Sony has since restored its network but offered no explanation for the cause of the disruption.
The sudden downtime of both Xbox and PlayStation networks in such quick succession has gamers questioning the stability of these online gaming services. As Microsoft works to get the Xbox servers back online, players are left hoping this won’t signal a pattern of frequent outages in the future.
